Floodwall Royals

Floodwall Tokens
The Royals!

This was originally a tracker for easy reference of the Royals the Floodwall party had to take out, so they could quickly find names and so on. This was the final version as of the game’s end.

Their names were based on colours; specifically a colour that I thought fit the school of magic that was the source of their immortality.

(Also, yes, the art on Czerna and Argat has been traced, from Fullmetal Alchemist and Soul Eater, respectively. I never expected to be posting them online!)

Czerna – DECEASED

Stereotypically beautiful; hourglass figure, evening gown, beauty spot… the works. Often incredibly smug and self-assured, but prone to bouts of melancholy.

Habits: Known to be fond of high-class masqurade parties. Invite only. Maybe a bit flirty.

Immortality: Illusion, sort of – she interacts with the world via a Simulacrum, while her living bones are sealed away at the very bottom of Floodwall with Imprisonment

Oltin – DECEASED

Very little is known about Oltin, save that they are only very rarely found in the city. They’re said to be incredibly paranoid, and nobody knows why they aren’t humanoid.

Habits: Said to fly around, away from the city. Seems to have nested on a distant island, to mess around reconstituting the matter there.

Immortality: Transmutation. Oltin has polymorphed themself into a Phoenix, and as such will resurrect upon death. They were once said to have been a jellyfish.

Lilla – DECEASED

Narcissistic and volatile, Lilla has a penchant for cruelty and reacts poorly if she doesn’t get her way.

Habits: Many in the church see her as like a spoiled child, as she’ll forcibly tag along with patrols. A patrol with Lilla along for the ride has maybe a 30% chance of coming home with everyone alive.

ImmortalityNecromancy. Lilla prepares a back-up body with the Clone spell. Her consciousness and soul transfer to it upon her current body’s death. Was defeated with a full assault on both Lilla and her backup Clone.

Zelena – Befriended!

Aggressive but gregarious. Known to be the least predictable of any of the Royals, and tends to talk herself up as a great hero. Her armor is clearly just for show. She’s a bit of a weirdo, tbh. And she’s… not the sharpest knife in the drawer. Hell, she’s probably a spoon.

She’s Firuzeh’s Mum, after wishing for her with her Ring of Three Wishes. There’s one wish left.

Habits: Zelena keeps to a strict training regime, and will challenge high-ranking church members to fights with a variety of weapons and such. Isn’t on the best of terms with the other Royals. She also occasionally goes on expeditions down into the shifting dungeons of the first tier.

Immortality: Conjuration. Wished to be immune to ageing, and for nothing in Floodwall to be able to defeat her (warning: does not include anything outside of Floodwall).

Argat – DECEASED

Detached and inquisitive. Never without a lab coat, which somewhat defeats its purpose. Enjoys trying to predict what people will do when exposed to certain events and stimuli.

Habits: Spends almost all his time in medical research facilities and hospitals he runs and maintains. Fond of ‘social experiments’, along with regular experiments.

Immortality: Abjuration. Argat was a lich; his phylactery was the hospital he’d built. Died when the party demolished his hospital.

Mavi – DECEASED

Stiff and refined, if a little boring. Reluctant to get his hands dirty. Only ever wears formal clothing. Between his horns is a strange light that many citizens think is a sign he holds the First Royal’s power.

Habits: Most likely of the Royals to be involved with the Church administration, and the everyday running of municipal business. Fond of red wine.

Immortality: Enchantment. His lifeforce is linked to that of a powerful extraplanar entity – the Mind Spider. Mavi can’t die as long as it’s alive. He’d been sealed in an iron flask for some time, but made vulnerable after the Mind Spider was erased. Said flask was disintegrated by Aurifar.

Ban – DECEASED (Has been for ages, but is now free from the Mind Spider)

The oldest of the Royals by far. Personality seems to vary on a day-to-day basis – sometimes he is arrogant and cantankerous, sometimes he is frail and wistful. He can appear in mirrors, and speaks often of what he’s forseen. While the party went to destroy LIlla’s Clone, Ban demonstrated that he could appear in multiple places at once, and seemed to have different levels of fortitude in his different appearences. ‘Ban is a nasty shit‘ – Firuzeh, 2018

Habits: Every two weeks, Ban holds an audience for those living in the city, where they can come and ask for miracles. People will wait for hours, hoping for Bán to bless them. His mood is a large factor in how successful they are.

Immortality: Divination. Ban is already dead, interacting with the world via divination-fuelled prerecorded messages. His soul belongs to the Mind Spider. When it was erased, Ban’s tether to the world was removed, and he passed on for real.

Rosso – Sparkless, retired

Surprisingly friendly and informal, maintaining an image of the most approachable of the Royals. However, he’s known to take great pride in his kindness and mercy – and those who don’t acknowledge these traits are undeserving of them.

Habits: Very much a hedonist – a patron of the arts; fond of food, wine, theatre, and music. Once averted a tidal wave that was set to destroy the city, with an absolutely massive hyper beam. Prefers white wine to red.

ImmortalityEvocation.  Rosso brews up potions of some kind that function as catalysts for his immortality. Passed his Evocation Spark onto Cranzalar, and quetly exited the story.
